Zoo Animals

This is the second to last post in the Cheyenne Mountain Zoo Series. I still have to do a spread with pictures from all of us at the zoo, and some other fun stuff. I had a hard time doing this one. According to PhotoShop I have 50-some-odd layers, but in reality I deleted the first 30 or so layers from trying to crop different pictures in different ways, and then deleting them because I didn't like the way things were turning out. I got to a point where I had all my pictures cropped, and sized properly (a big feat considering the pictures came from at least four different cameras) but then just didn't like the way they were fitting on the pages, but I did like the two photos that were square, so I deleted the other eight pictures and went searching for new ones. Some of my previous ones were used again, but cropped differently, but then other ones didn't work, so I had to go find new ones. Then, once I had them all sized and in place I decided I wanted rounded corners instead of square ones, so thankfully I knew that I could just copy each "layer" (picture) into a new file, and they wouldn't lose their positioning. It took a good two hours this morning getting everything done, but I really LOVE the way the two pages turned out! What do you think? By the way, everything you see is from Jady Day Studio's kit "Safari Dreamin'" available at scraporchard.com

Cheyenne Mountain Zoo

We went to the zoo while in Colorado and really enjoyed feeding the giraffes.

Pigtail Princess

Nothing to say here, except that I did her hair in pigtails and I think it's supercute.

Cute Girl

I just took this picture today. Sometimes you take a picture that just needs to be shown, if for nothing else than you have a cute kid. I can't believe how grown up she looks. And oh so cute with the ribbon head band. I love it.

One Month

The one thing I did with this one was use the brush tool to do all the white around the picture. Our red plaid couch just didn't look good. Next time I do picture I might have to do a backdrop. Though the reasoning behind taking pictures on the couch was to use the plaid as a gauge for growth.

Youth Jam 2008

Everything is from Jady Day, except the metal frame. That's from Shazbutt Moisson. I found it at Digiscrap Boutique. It was a freebie. I love freebies.

Camping at Palisades

Okay, I know I spelled reservoir wrong. Oops. I realized it too late, and the only way I know of to fix it is to start all over again. Once it's been saved and closed it opens as one image, with no layers. If someone knows how to edit the layers once it's been closed, I would like to know how.

FUNLAND!!!

One tip that I found, I always have a problem when I resize objects and they get distorted. I found out that when you hold down the "shift" key while resizing, the proportions stay the same. Very helpful.

Easter 2008

Abigail in her adorable Easter dress. I think it snowed two days later. And then about 2 months later too. Go figure.

Bryant's Blessing

I didn't really do much with this one. Played around with some effects. Need to figure out how to do the shadows better. And I really wish Photoshop would show me what the fonts look like the way that Word does. Right now I have to select the font to see how it will look. I wish the font name was written in the style of the font. I hope that makes sense. Oh yeah, I made the tage myself. Next time I think I will play around with texture more though, so it looks better. But I think it looks okay for a first attempt.

Introducing Bryant

I just wish the pictures were better. With this one I played around with changing the colors. The brad holding down the tag was originally yellow, but that didn't match. I'm learning. I just wish I could have matched the color better. I think Ican with more practice, patience, and learning though. Shouldn't be too hard. Just didn't have the time today with the kiddies.

Erin at the Zoo

I stole this picture from Erin. Hopefully she doesn't mind, but it's one of my favorites. And I needed something that would go with the super-cute kit, from Jady Day Studio by Yajaira Mower, called Safari Dreamin'.
